(COUNTY MAYO, IRELAND—11 Feb. 2011) -- After an extraordinary ten-year journey, author and healer Katherine Connon announces the release of Healing Visions: True Stories of Healing Through Divine Visions; First-aid for the Soul |
The book chronicles the evolution of an unusual, yet powerful gift that enabled Connon’s clients to experience deep physical, emotional and psychological healing through the divine visions they reported during private sessions. The book recounts Connon’s powerful personal journey from secure, successful Senior Manager at the Northern Ireland Health and Social Services Trust, to making a life-changing decision that would require an enormous leap of faith.
“I was developing a healing gift which seemed very mysterious to me. I had discovered reflexology as a way to expand my professional knowledge base, and then it slowly began to evolve into something else. I still don’t quite comprehend it,” Connon said. “At that time I was a serious skeptic. In my professional life I was trained to measure results and to weigh facts when working with clients. So if I could not see, touch or understand how someone was improving I was a bit confused. I denied this gift for a very long time, and I rationalized my clients’ visions as wishful thinking or pure imagination. I was wrong.”
A turning point came during a session with one of Connon’s regular clients-- a successful business owner seeking support in dealing with her stressful lifestyle. She described a spiritual experience that shook both of them to the core.
“She had a vision of Jesus smiling at her and I was absolutely shocked,” Connon said. “I was not a religious person at all, but I knew this was something I could not ignore. I had to
decide whether to deny and abandon my gift or fully commit to it.” Several months of soul searching and revealing dreams later, Connon made her final decision. “I gave three months notice to my Health Care Trust and put my house on the market. I placed my trust in God.”
In 2000, Connon finally left the security of home, friends and a successful 25-year career in Belfast and moved to the small town of Westport, Co Mayo where her mother and grandmother were born. Knowing no one but a solicitor, Connon still felt deeply drawn to the area she considers her spiritual home. Over the last ten years Connon has worked with clients from India, America and Europe. Now her clients’ visions are commonplace.
“I feel very privileged to share some of these experiences which are so full of hope and wisdom,” Connon said. “In these stories are beautiful messages of love, forgiveness and a very present God in all our lives—a God we so desperately need to lean on at this time.”
ABOUT KATHERINE CONNON
Born and raised in Ireland, Katherine (Kate) Connon had a long and successful career working for the Northern Ireland Health and Social Services Trust as a Senior Manager. Her duties included the assessment and training of students undergoing the Diploma in Social Work and the area-wide training and development of staff at all levels from Care Assistant to Director across both the Health and Social Services Trusts in Northern Ireland. In the earlier days of her social work career as a manager of Day Care Services many of her clients were severely disabled with multiple disabilities. In her quest for new therapeutic approaches to support them, she became interested in a more holistic approach to health. Her search led her to train in Reflexology, and she subsequently developed her own Reflexology practice. Over the next ten years she reluctantly discovered that she had a natural gift for healing. In essence, she developed or opened to a gift which enabled her clients to attain a higher level of consciousness, connect directly with divine power and experience profound and lasting healing. A lifelong skeptic of anything that she could not touch, see, hear or explain, Connon struggled to accept her gift and the effect that her work was having on her clients. Finally after a year of soul-searching and a series of revealing dreams about the direction her life should take, she made her decision. On the morning of her birthday, July 6, 2000, Connon turned her back on the work she knew and loved, resigning from her secure position to devote her life to the new and mysterious work that had chosen her.
